Supporting Others
Beyond our passion for singing and entertaining, our ladies’ choir holds a deep commitment to supporting local charities. Over the past four decades, we’ve proudly raised thousands of pounds for various charitable causes in our community. Each year, we democratically choose which charity to support – based on suggestions from our choir members.
In recent years, our charitable donations have supported Brighter Futures Radiotherapy (£2,000), Macmillan Cancer Support (£2,500), British Heart Foundation (£2,400), Julia’s House Children’s Hospice (£2,000), and Wiltshire Air Ambulance (£2,500).
The Breast Centre at GWH and Swindon Prostrate Cancer Support Group
This year’s chosen charities support a wide range of people. The Breast Centre is based in Swindon’s Great Western Hospital and cares for and supports individuals referred by their GP with breast problems. The Swindon Prostate Cancer Support Group was set-up in 2015 for individuals who are both directly or indirectly affected by prostrate cancer.
